Being Human (magazine article)

I'm happy to announce an article that I have written for the magazine: Being Human, a research magazine distributed by the Anthroposophical Society of America. This article is titled: When Words Fall Short. This piece has grown out of a question that has followed me for decades: how does imagination become clear language? In this well researched piece I reflect on the process through which inner pictures slowly translate themselves into words, taking their place as higher thought. This work is a result of many years of study, and compliments some of my latest publications that have recently become available to you! Every page reflecting upon the practices that I have been long developing by using "my own way" of expressing real world forms (which now I have been officially recognized for). And I am so grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the wider conversation about imagination, language, and the process of living thought!

Biography: Amber Smith is a student of anthroposophy and an independent researcher whose work engages in the philosophical and pedagogical writings of Rudolf Steiner. Her writings explore the relationship between imagination, expressive language forms, and the development of living thought; with a particular attention to how open narrative and inner imagery can illuminate anthroposophical perspectives on human development and cultural renewal. Much of her writing arises from an ongoing effort to express experiences that often appear first as inward images, before being understood as clearly defined concepts. She is the author of The Karmic Landscape of Wonderland, a study exploring the symbolic and spiritual dimensions found in the language of Lewis Carroll and its relationship to the scientific insights of Rudolf Steiner.
